Anna Queralt
Associate Professor
About
Anna Queralt is an Associate Professor and Serra Húnter Fellow at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), which she joined in 2021. She leads the Database Technologies and Information Management (DTIM) research group at UPC.
She was a Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) from 2012 to 2024, leading the Distributed Object Management research line. The results of this research are materialized in the dataClay distributed object store, part of the BSC open-source product portfolio since 2018.
She has led and participated in numerous European and national projects, as well as industrial contracts in the topics of her research.
Her research interests are related to data management, focusing on the automation of the different steps of the data lifecycle, from data modeling to processing and sharing. Her research topics involve semantic data management, data governance, data federation, and HPC data management.
She lectures at the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (UPC), participating in several data management courses in the BSc in Informatics Engineering, BSc in Artificial Intelligence, Erasmus Mundus MSc in Big Data Management and Analytics, and MSc in Data Science, which she coordinates. She also participates in the MSc in Big Data Management, Technologies and Analytics at the UPC School of Professional and Executive Development.
